Constitutional medicine research is intended to scientifically examine the Sasang constitutional medicine, Korea's unique TKM, and establish EBM for it. It is also known as the Lee Je-Ma Project, named after the originator of Sasang constitutional medicine.

The Lee Je-Ma Project research team includes multi-disciplinary experts covering the fields of medicine, engineering, biology, physics, statistics, and so on. In addition, a variety of relevant researches are underway where clinical trials based on constitutional diagnosis are conducted to develop original TKM treatment techniques based on the theory of Sasang constitutional medicine; to develop contents for constitutional diagnosis/health diagnosis; to identify genetic characteristics of constitutional classification; and to develop customized medicines.

Such researches are intended to realize customized health care services based on constitutional medicine and help improve the health of all mankind through the globalization of Sasang constitutional medicine.
