「KM Clinical Practice Guideline」 translated and published in Russian
Russian version of 「KM Clinical Practice Guideline on Obesity」 published in 2016
Usage sought as an educational material for local medical personnel in Uzbekistan
KIOM published the Russian version of 「KM Clinical Practice Guideline on Obesity」, which it originally published in 2016, in an effort to disseminate contents on Korean medicine and expand its research outcomes in Euasia, on December 19, 2017.
The translation and publication of the Russian version was initiated to enhance the interest in Korean medicine and promote the utilization of its contents on Korean medicine in clinical and educational settings in the region. It is considered to be especially meaningful because the translation and publication were realized through the collaboration of KIOM researchers and medical personnel in Uzbekistan and Korea.
In Uzbekistan, a country belonging to the Russian-speaking region, a course on Korean medicine was established as a regular subject at the Tashkent Medical Academy, demonstrating rising interest in Korean medicine, and the use of the newly translated book as a local educational material is currently being considered.
Following the publication of the Russian version of 「KM Clinical Practice Guideline on Obesity」, KIOM plans to translate and distribute other books in the 「KM Clinical Practice Guideline」 series including those on depression, shoulder pain, and facial paralysis, sequentially based on local demand concerning major diseases in Eurasia.
The Russian version of 「KM Clinical Practice Guidelines on Obesity」 is also available for downloading on KIOM’s website(www.kiom.re.kr/eng).
